With gaming being our primary focus during the Covid-19 Lockdown, I thought I’d give you a few other options to entertain yourself. Some of these apps will need subscriptions – however if you’ve never had a subscription to them you can find free trials. All of the streaming apps have their own original TV shows and films exclusively on their platform.
Disney +
Currently the hottest new thing on the streaming market. Disney + lets you watch Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more, all in one place.
Some of Disney+’s original content:

- High School Musical: The Musical: The Series takes us back to the real-life East High once again.
- Lady and the Tramp, a timeless live-action retelling of the 1955 animated classic.
- Togo, an exhilarating and uplifting adventure of a man and his lead sled dog, set in the winter of 1925.

Netflix
The service that helped kick off the film/tv show streaming phenomenon. From kids shows like Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig to more adult themed Ozark, Brooklyn Nine Nine and Archer ( LAAANNNAAAAAA), there’s an absolute tonne to choose from There are even some gaming related shows popping up, with the well regarded Castlevania anime getting a 3rd series.

Amazon Prime Video
Included amongst a plethora of other benefits with an Amazon Prime subscription, and possibly the best value streaming service going at the moment. Plenty of content, with premium extras available if you can’t wait to watch the latest content!
Some of Prime Video’s original content:
- The Boys is set in a universe where superpowered people are recognized as heroes by the general public and owned by powerful corporation Vought International, which ensures that they are aggressively marketed and monetized.

- The Upside. Inspired by a true story, The Upside is a heartfelt comedy about a recently paroled ex-convict who strikes up an unusual and unlikely friendship with a paralyzed billionaire
These are our picks of what to watch, and where. There are a tonne of other video apps on the Xbox Store, though a lot of what is on offer can be found within those mentioned above. If you’re into watching the biggest streamers, Mixer and Twitch will have you covered, while YouTube is there for those times when you just want to watch a compilation of cat videos.
