First and foremost, don’t panic! We’re not going anywhere. We are, however, undergoing a few changes, effective immediately. Here’s the all important why and how.
Why Change?
For a long time now, we’ve worked our hardest to ensure that you get the hottest news, as fast as possible. Recently we decided to consolidate all of our news into daily roundup posts, for your simplicity and for our own. We did this initially because it just didn’t make sense to keep posting so many individual articles when the click-rate just wasn’t evolving. Furthermore, most of our clicks go to our reviews and opinion pieces.
A similar thing happened to PureXbox, which I regard as on of the best Xbox sites of all time. Sadly, however, they shut down due to lack of evolution and indeed, click-rate. Rather than throw in the towel, we figured we would work on our strengths whilst evolving another aspect of the Xbox Tavern. Read on…
Changing, How?
Xbox Tavern will now primarily be a Review, Personality and Opinion site. We aim to cover each and every single game release on Xbox, including hardware. We also plan to continue to provide our opinions in regards to Xbox as a service, as well as gaming in general. We’ve never been shy to highlight Microsoft’s screw ups, but we’re also keen to discuss their strengths, too. Something we plan to bolster in the weeks ahead.
On top of this, we’ll also be doing a lot more community engagement. This includes new YouTube videos, Xt Playdates, Streams, Giveaways and more. Now, going back to the news, worry not! We’re not leaving this one totally in the dark. We’ll continue to promote the news via sharing it on our Social Media outlets. The moment we have it (we have it pretty fast), we’ll share it with you there, providing it doesn’t break embargo, of course. We’ll also be here if you have any game specific questions that are not really “public knowledge”, or questions for developers.
Conclusion
The bottom line here is that we’re not going anywhere, we’re just changing in a way that makes sense to you and to us. Moving forward, we plan to be much closer to you than ever before and thoroughly look forward to spending time with you in the long run. Thanks, as always, for sticking with us.
